Fertility literacy is not merely biological. Conception, pregnancy and risk factors for reproductive health are key points but not the only ones to consider. Fertility literacy is a multidimensional concept that embraces as equally important that reproductive decisions are also shaped by cultural expectations, gender norms, educational opportunities, and socioeconomic conditions. Thus, young people need to be aware both of scientific facts and sociocultural perspectives that affect their reproductive choices. True literacy consists of understanding fertility as knowledge, awareness, and choice.
