How do young people understand their family-related rights in Europe and how do policies shape their choices about work, care, and parenthood? This module explores how “family planning” is not only personal, but also political: shaped by the European Union’s standards and the way each country applies them in practice.
We’ll examine key areas such as the types of leave, flexible work, childcare availability and affordability, social welfare benefits, and healthcare access. Through comparisons, examples, and simple advocacy tools, learners connect lived experience with evidence and find out how to communicate effectively to influence change.
Youth Workers are supported to help young people navigate systems, understand entitlements, and turn everyday challenges into clear priorities for action.
By the end of the module, learners will have stronger policy awareness, improved confidence to access services and information, and practical skills to plan and advocate for more family-friendly support.
Question: Which right or support exists, but might be difficult to access in real life?
